Uppåkra patch

An embroidered fabric patch in gold tread based upon the Uppåkra bird brooch, Sweden.

Birds were a common motif in the Vendel and Viking Ages and can be found on a variety of objects from the periods, and brooches in one of them.

This is however made with a modern twist - as a fabric patch.

The backside is covered with a material so you can iron on the patch, but sewing works just as well.

The patch measures 11 x 4 cm.
