An embroidered fabric patch based on the ring brooch found in the Viking Age ship burial, Valsgärde 15 in Uppland, Sweden.
Ring brooches were a common accessory in the Vendel and Viking ages. The ring brooch this is based on is from an elite ship burial grave and has traces of having been worn for a long period, perhaps even generations.
This is however made with a modern twist - as a fabric patch.
The backside is covered with a material so you can iron on the patch, but sewing works just as well.
The patch measures 9 x 8 cm.
